TECHNICIAN

JOB PURPOSE:

The Technician A will  immediately repair and solve maintenance problems in relation to plumbing, electric, joinery and other types and will maintain/ repair the machinery and installations of the hotel, delivering the highest possible quality standards in the most efficient and effective manner. He/she will be pro-active in maintaining and/or improving the department profitability in accordance with Hotel policies, procedures and standards.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To maintain/repair the machinery based on the maintenance program-me: kitchen equipment, pump rooms, air-conditioning units, natural gas and petrol installations, refrigeration installations, ventilation machinery, all engine rooms, air handling units, telephone points, washing machines, electricity generator, tool machinery and tools, lifts, etc.
  •  To inform his superiors about incidents, observations and developments that affect Guests, the Hotel’s activities and his/her post.
  • To co-ordinate resources to ensure that all possible issues are immediately and efficiently resolved in all guest rooms, public and back of house areas.
  • To ensure strict adherence to manufacturers’ instructions of safe use of all equipment and understand any risks involved of operating machinery and other equipment.
  • To perform the duties with maximum efficiency and in the most productive manner, following the department’s induction and training program and do not hesitate to ask questions regarding the execution of his duties.
  • To be flexible and extend job duties to carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities within the job capability as assigned, including redeployment to alternative departments/areas if required, to meet business demands and guest service needs.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate of a secondary Technical School.
  • Three year previous experience in a similar position.
  • Must speak and write English. Knowledge of another language will be considered an advantage.
  • Organisational skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Pleasant and friendly personality, reliable, polite and responsible.
