  • Weighs, measures, and mixes ingredients according to recipes, using various kitchen utensils and equipment.  In case of any equipment fault informs immediately his/her superiors.
  • Seasons and cooks, turns or stirs food according to recipes to ensure even cooking.
  • Observes and tests foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently, using methods such as tasting, smelling, or piercing them with utensils.
  • Portions, arranges, and garnishes food, and serves food to waiters or directly to guests if on a live cooking station on the buffet.
  • Regulates temperature of ovens, broilers, deep- fryers, etc.
  • Ensures that on a daily basis and on the correct frequencies, the temperatures for all fridges in his/her post are recorded on the appropriate forms, signs those forms and files accordingly.
  • Takes on mentoring responsibilities for new or inexperienced employees as assigned by his/her Supervisors.
