On behalf of our clients, a luxury hotel in Limassol, Cyprus, we are currently recruiting for the position of IT Executive.
JOB PURPOSE
To be responsible for the smooth operation of the Hotel’s computers and I.T. Systems-software and hardware (except those under the responsibility of the Maintenance Department) and to advise management of developments in I.T. and their impact on the hotel industry so that agreed objectives are achieved and maintained in relation to (1) the Company, (2) the Guests, (3) the team members.
MAIN DUTIES
CUSTOMER AWARENESS
To understand who are the customers, both external (Hotel guests) and internal (all Hotel employees), their expectations and needs, establish and maintain relationship/rapport through service and over the long term.
To seek and action customer feedback at every opportunity and learn from complaints.
To implement and train the correct hotel service standards, monitor and strive for continuous improvement.
To project a positive, professional and friendly image to the guests and employees.
To develop and/or maintain the file of guest preferences in the Bars (e.g. favourite product type, requests, birthdays, special occasions, etc).
HEALTH AND SAFETY AND QUALITY ASSURANCE
1. To ensure a safe workplace by identifying hazards and taking corrective action and to instruct employees on specific safe work practices.
2. To thoroughly understand and adhere to all Hotel’s standards in accountancy, customer service, product presentation and maintenance, cleanliness and hygiene.
3. To ensure strict adherence with manufacturers’ instructions for safe use of all equipment and understand any risks involved in operating machinery and other equipment.
4. To monitor and control all areas and activities under his responsibility and be vigilantly attentive to service details and all product quality.
5. To co-ordinate effectively with the related/dependent departments through constant contact about speed of service, availability, popularity and inter-relations.
6. To inspect all under his responsibility areas to ensure cleanliness, tidiness, proper physical condition and functioning equipment.
SERVICE DELIVERY
1. To ensure the smooth running of all computers and information technology systems.
2. To ensure that all hardware is maintained in good condition at all times by performing minor repairs, if possible, or ensuring that a technician is contacted, and the repair is made under the maintenance contract.
3. To ensure the integrity of all data and that backups are made on a regular basis.
4. To maintain security access on all systems by limiting user access to their own specific tasks, which are necessary to performing their duties.
5. To maintain and update configuration and codes for Front Office, Accounting and Inventory systems.
6. To assist in the training of staff, solving of procedural problems concerning computer input/output, contacting software suppliers to solicit solutions to problems or “bugs” encountered in their systems.
7. To liaise with Software Suppliers with regards to requests for amendments and to ensure that upgrades to new versions are installed timely and smoothly.
8. To assist Local Area Network users with any problems they have with connections, data, presentation or printing of documents and generally the use of any of the installed software.
9. To maintain the Key Card systems and keep control of cards used by staff and management.
10. To write in-house scripts to enhance reports produced from the main systems.
11. To set up and maintain statistics using spreadsheets for reports which are not available in the form required in the main systems.
12. To produce budget reports and maintain these in the Accounting system.
13. To ensure anti-virus program is installed on all PC’s and that the updates are available for the users to install on a regular basis.
14. To be responsible for computer consumables and to ensure that all peripherals are supplied as well as to ensure that there is no unnecessary wastage.
15. To assist guests using the computer in the Business Centre and arrange for hiring of computer equipment for groups and conventions.
16. To maintain the Internet services within the hotel including the server, browsers and E-Mail server.
17. To keep abreast of new developments in computer and I.T. industry.
18. To perform other duties as and when required by the General Manager.
19. To assist the Hotel’s Environment Champion in implementing the hotel’s environmental policies.
20. To be fully aware of the Hotel’s Fire Prevention and Safety procedures.
21. Follow and implement all necessary GDPR & Cyber Security procedures and ensure these are well communicated followed by all users.
STANDARD DUTIES
1. To implement the Hotel’s Internal Operating Regulations on the basis of the Employee’s Handbook.
2. To know, implement and participate in the Hotel’s vision and objectives as described in the written procedures of the Hotel.
3. To report for duty punctually wearing the correct uniform and perfectly groomed at all times.
4. To inform his/her superior when leaving his/her station/area for breaks and at end of shift.
5. To inform his/her superior should he/she has any problems with his/her scheduled working hours.
6. To provide a friendly, courteous and professional service at all times.
7. To perform the duties with maximum efficiency and in the most productive manner, following the department’s induction and training program and do not hesitate to ask questions regarding the execution of his/her duties.
8. To always co-operate, assist and help other areas/stations/people when they are busier than him/her.

10. To understand and adhere to the Hotel’s rules and regulations and in particular the policies and procedures relating to Fire, Hygiene, Health & Safety, Cleanliness and the Environment.
11. To comply with Cyprus legislation and be conversant with and act in accordance with any such matters relating to his/her department.
12. To respond to any changes in the department as dictated by the needs of the industry, or Hotel operations.
13. To be flexible and extend job duties to carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities within the job capability as assigned, including redeployment to alternative departments/areas if required, to meet business demands and guest service needs.
14. To attend training sessions and seminars as required.
15. To attend and contribute to regular departmental communications meetings/briefings.
