Chambermaid

PURPOSE:

To clean all types of assigned rooms, bathrooms and toilets and corridors to the standard of cleanliness and hygiene required by the hotel. Clean Public Areas, as per the instructions of the floor Supervisors and Housekeepers. Be alert for security and especially of the guests and their belongings. Be aware of the hotel fire regulations. Hold a punctual attendance and refrain from taking unnotified days off from work. To take the allocated time for meals and coffee breaks only.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

a.       To maintain a clean and tidy serve area (office).

b.       To maintain tidy and clean Public Areas every morning, corridors, pool area, pool restaurant, veranda, staff corridors and changing rooms.

c.       To clean and take care of the vacuum cleaner.

d.       To use correct amounts of detergents as instructed.

e.       To comply with the hotels procedures for the control of room keys/ cards.

f.        To take all lost property found, to the Housekeeping office as soon as possible.

g.       To report any suspicious behavior.

h.       To attend training sessions when required.

i.         To clean a given number of rooms and perform extra jobs required.

j.         To always wear a clean and well-pressed uniform and name badge.

k.       To wear minimum make-up, hair tidy, and low closed shoes.

l.         To carry out any other duties requested from supervisor.

m.     To change bed linen as instructed by the Housekeeper to ensure that all linen used is clean, well ironed and in good repair.

n.       To clean pictures paintwork and mirrors.

o.       To polish furniture including all ledges in and out of view.

p.       To empty and clean all ashtrays and rubbish bins.

q.       To clean telephone, TV, and all devices.

r.        To vacuum floor / carpet daily – including under beds and furniture.

To clean balcony furniture, floor, doors and ledges.
t.        To clean bathroom to the highest standard of the cleanliness and hygiene. To wash down the bath, tiles, taps, shower head, toilet, bidet and surfaces. To clean and polish mirrors and wash down the floor.

u.       Replenish guest supplies and towels daily according to the Hotel’s requirements.

v.       To prepare the trolley every afternoon, after finishing the rooms, and stock with fresh linen in the neatest and most compact way possible.

w.     To ensure that no used rubbish bags, loose rubbish or supplies are left on the trolley except for toilet rolls and tissues.

x.       To leave no dirty linen on the trolley at the end of the day, and to ensure that all items on the trolley are kept under close supervision in order to avoid theft.

 

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of the Greek or English language
  • Pleasant personality
  • Experienced in a similar position
