Chief Engineer – Kanika Hotels & Resorts

Are you ready to play a key role in the opening and operation of one of our new luxury hotels? We are seeking a Chief Engineer to lead all technical and engineering functions during both the Pre-Opening and operational phases.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to work in a dynamic environment, ensuring that our hotels meet the highest standards of safety, comfort, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Pre-Opening Phase

• Collaborate with architects, contractors, and consultants to ensure all technical systems meet brand standards

• Supervise MEP installations (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety, elevators, kitchen equipment, etc.)

• Lead the testing, commissioning, and handover process for building systems

• Coordinate and monitor snagging, ensuring timely rectifications

• Set up preventive maintenance plans, engineering procedures, and procure required tools and spare parts

• Ensure all permits, safety, and compliance standards are in place prior to opening

 

Operational Phase

• Lead and manage the hotel’s engineering department and team

• Oversee maintenance of building systems and ensure prompt response to repair requests

• Implement preventive and corrective maintenance programs

• Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety, and Fire Life Safety standards

• Drive energy management and sustainability initiatives across the property

• Supervise renovation and CAPEX projects

• Manage budgets, contracts, and procurement for the engineering department

• Support other hotel departments to ensure smooth daily operations

 

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related field

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior engineering role, preferably within 4- or 5-star hotels

• Strong knowledge of MEP systems, hotel technical operations, and safety regulations

• Experience in pre-opening projects will be considered a strong advantage

• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills

• Fluency in English is essential; knowledge of Greek or other languages is an advantage
