Job Title: Pastry Cook C
Department: Culinary / Pastry
Reports To: Pastry Cook A / Pastry Chef / Executive Pastry Chef
Location: The Beach House
Position Summary
The Pastry Cook C is an entry-level to intermediate pastry team member responsible for preparing basic baked goods, assisting with production, and maintaining kitchen organization and sanitation standards. This position supports senior pastry staff in daily operations and is expected to follow recipes and instructions precisely while developing technical skills and product knowledge.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Production Support
- Prepare basic pastry items including cookies, simple cakes, pie doughs, custards, mousses, fillings, and batters according to standardized recipes.
- Scale and measure ingredients accurately using proper kitchen tools.
- Assist with bread production, dough preparation, and basic finishing techniques.
- Support banquet, restaurant, catering, and retail production as assigned.
- Assemble and garnish desserts following established presentation standards.
- Restock pastry stations during service as needed.
Preparation & Organization
- Complete daily prep lists as assigned by supervisors.
- Label, date, and properly store all products following FIFO procedures.
- Maintain organized refrigeration, freezer, and dry storage areas.
- Assist with inventory counts and receiving deliveries when needed.
Sanitation & Safety
- Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation at all times.
- Follow all food safety and HACCP guidelines.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and report maintenance issues promptly.
- Comply with company safety policies and procedures.
Team Collaboration
- Communicate clearly with pastry team members and kitchen staff.
- Accept direction and feedback from supervisors to improve performance.
- Maintain a professional attitude and strong work ethic.
- Assist other culinary team members as business needs require.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Culinary or pastry school training preferred but not required.
- 1–2 years of kitchen or baking experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Basic understanding of baking principles and kitchen terminology.
- Ability to follow recipes and written/verbal instructions.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to learn and develop pastry skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods (8+ hours).
- Ability to lift up to 20 to 25 kg.
- Frequent bending, lifting, reaching, and repetitive hand motions.
- Ability to work in hot kitchen environments and cold storage areas.
Work Schedule
- Must be available to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as business demands require.
- Paid overtime may be required based on operational needs.Career Path
