Job Overview
The Pastry Chef de Partie is responsible for the preparation, production, and presentation of high-quality pastries, desserts, baked goods, and other pastry items for all hotel outlets. The successful candidate will ensure that all products are prepared according to established recipes and standards while supporting the smooth operation of the Pastry Department and maintaining the highest levels of hygiene, quality, and efficiency.
Main Responsibilities & Duties
- Participate in building an efficient and motivated pastry team by taking an active interest in colleagues’ welfare, safety, and development.
- Ensure the smooth daily operation of the pastry section, producing and providing pastry items for all hotel outlets according to established quality standards and service requirements.
- Prepare, bake, and decorate a wide variety of pastries, desserts, cakes, breads, and other baked goods following traditional and modern recipes.
- Review production schedules and organize ingredients, supplies, and equipment required for daily operations.
- Be fully responsible for the assigned pastry station and ensure consistent product quality and presentation.
- Receive and check ingredients and supplies from the main kitchen and stores as required.
- Assist in recipe development, menu planning, and maintaining accurate recipe and costing records.
- Support and guide junior pastry team members, providing training and assistance when needed.
- Monitor stock levels and report any shortages or deficiencies to the Pastry Chef or Executive Chef.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of pastry techniques, trends, and ingredients.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient working environment at all times.
- Report any operational issues, equipment faults, or quality concerns to the Pastry Chef or Executive Chef.
- Be flexible in carrying out additional duties and responsibilities as assigned to meet business and guest service requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within a hotel, resort, or high-volume pastry operation.
- Diploma or certification in Culinary Arts, Pastry Arts, or a related field will be considered an advantage.
- Good knowledge of pastry production, baking techniques, and dessert presentation.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent understanding of food hygiene and HACCP standards.
- Good command of both Greek and English languages.
- Holder of an EU passport is essential.
