Job Title: Cook B
Location: The Beach House – Beach Restaurant & Bar
Reports To: Head Chef / Executive Chef / Cook A
Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Overview
The Cook B supports the senior kitchen team in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of high-quality dishes at The Beach House. Working under the supervision of the Head Chef and Cook A, the Cook B is responsible for assisting in managing a designated section while maintaining consistency, speed, and adherence to the restaurant’s culinary standards.

This position is ideal for a skilled cook with solid kitchen experience who is ready to grow within a dynamic beach restaurant and bar environment.

Key Responsibilities

Food Preparation & Cooking

  • Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to standardized recipes.
  • Assist Cook A in managing assigned kitchen sections (grill, fry, cold kitchen, etc.).
  • Ensure dishes are prepared and presented according to The Beach House quality standards.
  • Maintain consistency in flavor, portion size, and presentation.
  • Assist in handling peak service periods efficiently.

Kitchen Operations

  • Set up workstation before service and ensure proper mise en place.
  • Follow proper storage, labeling, and rotation procedures (FIFO).
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area at all times.
  • Monitor stock levels and report shortages to Cook A or Head Chef.
  • Help reduce food waste through careful preparation and portion control.

Quality & Safety

  • Follow all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
  • Ensure compliance with HACCP and local health regulations.
  • Handle kitchen equipment safely and responsibly.
  • Report any maintenance or safety issues immediately.

Teamwork & Support

  • Work closely with Cook A and other team members to ensure smooth service.
  • Assist in training and supporting Cook C or junior staff when required.
  • Maintain professional and respectful communication with kitchen and front-of-house staff.
  • Contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a professional kitchen.
  • Experience in high-volume or casual dining environments preferred.
  • Culinary training or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.

Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced setting.
