JOB DESCRIPTION

Location: The Beach House
Reports To: Restaurant Manager / Restaurant Supervisor/Head Waiter

Job Summary
The Waiter/Waitress A is a senior service professional responsible for delivering high-quality food and beverage service in a fast-paced, high-volume beach restaurant and bar environment. This role requires excellent product knowledge, strong customer service skills, and the ability to manage a section independently while ensuring guests receive a memorable dining experience that reflects the restaurant’s standards and seaside atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities
Guest Service

  • Greet guests warmly and present menus according to service standards
  • Take accurate food and beverage orders and enter them into the POS system
  • Provide knowledgeable recommendations on food, beverages, cocktails, and daily specials
  • Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining presentation and quality standards
  • Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly to requests, questions, or concerns
  • Handle guest complaints professionally and escalate when necessary

Operational Duties

  • Manage an assigned section independently during service
  • Ensure tables are properly set, clean, and maintained throughout service
  • Coordinate closely with kitchen, bar, and support staff to ensure smooth service flow
  • Prepare and close service stations according to opening and closing procedures
  • Process payments accurately, including cash and card transactions
  • Follow all health, safety, and hygiene regulations

Team & Standards

  • Act as a role model for junior waiters and support staff
  • Assist in training new team members when required
  • Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude at all times
  • Uphold the restaurant’s brand image and service philosophy

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Waiter/Waitress in a high-volume restaurant or beach bar
  • Strong knowledge of food service techniques and beverage service
  • Experience working with POS systems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, outdoor beach environment
  • Professional demeanour with strong attention to detail
  • Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
  • Language Skills: English: Fluent (spoken and understood) – Greek: Advantage – Additional languages are considered an asset
