Job Title: Steward (Cleaner) – NEED TO HAVE WORK PERMIT

Job Summary
We are seeking a hardworking and reliable Steward to join our team. The Steward is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, organization, and sanitation standards in the kitchen, dining, and back-of-house areas. This role plays a critical part in supporting overall restaurant operations and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Cleaning & Sanitation (Kitchen & Back-of-House)

  • Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and pans using dishwashers or by hand.
  • Ensure all kitchen equipment and utensils are properly cleaned and sanitized.
  • Clean and sanitize food preparation surfaces.
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen floors, walls, storage areas, refrigerators, and garbage stations.
  • Dispose of trash and recycling in accordance with health and safety standards.

Restaurant Cleaning (Front-of-House)

  • Sweep, mop, and vacuum dining areas before, during, and after service.
  • Clean windows, glass doors, mirrors, and fixtures.
  • Maintain cleanliness of restrooms, including replenishing supplies (soap, tissue, paper towels).
  • Ensure entrance areas, walkways, and waiting areas remain clean and presentable.
  • Assist with deep cleaning tasks as scheduled (carpet cleaning, polishing, high dusting).
  • Immediately address spills and hazards to maintain guest safety.

Kitchen Support

  • Transport clean dishes and utensils to appropriate storage areas.
  • Ensure adequate supply of clean dishes and kitchenware during service hours.
  • Refill cleaning chemicals and operate dishwashing machines properly.

Inventory & Organization

  • Organize and store kitchen supplies and equipment.
  • Report shortages, breakages, or equipment malfunctions to supervisors.
  • Assist with receiving and storing deliveries following company procedures.

Health & Safety Compliance

  • Follow all local health department regulations.
  • Adhere to company hygiene and safety standards.
  • Wear proper uniform and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain a clean and hazard-free working environment.
  • Follow proper chemical handling and storage procedures.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation procedures.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods.
  • Ability to lift up to  (23 kg).

Working Conditions

  • Standing for extended periods.
  • Exposure to heat, steam, cleaning chemicals, and kitchen equipment.
  • Evening, weekend, and holiday shifts may be required.
