Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Bartender A to join our hospitality team. The Bartender A is responsible for preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, delivering exceptional guest service, maintaining bar cleanliness, and ensuring compliance with beverage control and safety standards. This role requires strong product knowledge, efficiency, and a professional attitude to create a positive guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Beverage Preparation & Service
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to standard recipes.
- Mix cocktails, pour wine and beer, and prepare specialty drinks.
- Ensure accuracy in drink preparation and presentation.
- Check guest identification to verify legal drinking age.
- Monitor guest alcohol consumption and serve responsibly.
Guest Service
- Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner.
- Take beverage orders accurately and efficiently.
- Provide recommendations on cocktails, wines, beers, and specialty drinks.
- Handle guest complaints or concerns promptly and professionally.
- Maintain a welcoming and energetic bar atmosphere.
Bar Setup & Maintenance
- Set up the bar before service, ensuring all supplies are stocked.
- Maintain cleanliness of bar counters, equipment, and seating areas.
- Wash and polish glassware.
- Replenish bar inventory and supplies during service.
- Ensure proper storage of beverages and ingredients.
Inventory & Cash Handling
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages to supervisors.
- Assist in bar inventory counts.
- Operate POS system accurately.
- Handle cash, credit card transactions, and guest bills responsibly.
- Balance cash drawer at end of shift (if required).
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Follow all local liquor laws and company alcohol policies.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards.
- Ensure safe handling of glassware and bar equipment.
- Adhere to hygiene and grooming standards.
- Comply with food safety and workplace safety regulations.
Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2–3 years of bartending experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wines, and beers.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Basic math skills for handling payments.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 lbs (11 kg).
- Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
